What world are children being prepared for, and what can we do to help?
Apart from my own kids, this is a question that keeps me up at night.
Since 2009, when I founded McLellan Bush Architects, I’ve drawn on research and personal and professional life experiences to bring the design dreams of primary and secondary school communities to life.
My passion is creating inspiring learning spaces for children and young adults, regardless of demographics.
I love watching children learn and take on the world. I believe children and young adults need advocates in educational architecture and this is why I do what I do.
Research shows environments which cater for open-endedness are fundamental from physical, social, and emotional perspectives.
This is front of mind as we strike a design balance in successful learning spaces with places for rest, daydreaming, connection and withdrawal. Everyone needs these in different amounts, at different times.
I work with an amazing team of talented, dedicated, fun and professional architects who, like me, are determined to never stop learning! We are renowned for having an eye for detail, sustainability, and accessibility for all with our designs, and creating autonomy in our learning spaces which allows kids to move freely.
At the end of the day, we do what we do for the kids, and that in turn makes our clients’ lives easier and helps create a sense of pride and peace in school communities.
I am Blessed to be able to do what I love to do.
